BJP Punjab spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal said that the saying “Birds of a feather flock together” perfectly reflects the relationship between Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab politics. He stated that a vote cast in favour of Congress during Municipal Corporation and Municipal Council elections ultimately strengthens the Aam Aadmi Party, as both parties are only pretending to oppose each other while secretly working together behind the scenes.

Baliawal said that in several Municipal Corporations and Municipal Councils across Punjab, the people had not given a clear majority to the Aam Aadmi Party. However, Congress councillors, despite being elected against AAP, ignored the public mandate and extended support to AAP in forming governments and electing mayors.

He said that this political understanding was openly visible in Municipal Corporations including Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Jalandhar. Similarly, in elections for Chairpersons of Zila Parshid’s and Block Samiti’s in places such as Phagwara, Baghapurana, Sahnewal, Kotkapura, Faridkot, and several other areas, Congress representatives voted in favour of AAP candidates, thereby disrespecting the mandate given by the people.

Baliawal further stated that the people of Punjab now clearly understand that Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party are working together for the sake of power politics. He alleged that both parties have failed to focus on real public concerns such as law and order, the future of youth, farmers’ issues, employment, and the overall development of Punjab.

He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party is the only party in Punjab consistently raising the voice of the people and acting as the true opposition on public issues. He appealed to voters to use their votes wisely in the upcoming elections and strengthen the BJP.
