Punjabi University launches Four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) B. A.-B. Ed. from 2024-2025

Punjabi University, Patiala is pleased to announce the launch of Four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) B. A.-B. Ed. (Secondary stage) from the session 2024-2025.
Department of Education & Community Service, Punjabi University Patiala has already received the necessary approval from National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi to start this programme with an intake of 50 students.
It is worth mentioning that ITEP is the flagship program of NCTE under National Education Policy, 2020. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Arvind expressed that the course will benefit students since they will save a year as they will finish the course in four years as opposed to the five years required as per the present B.Ed. plan.
Dr. Jagpreet Kaur, Head, Deptt. of Education and Community Service, Punjabi University, Patiala shared that the admission to this course for the session 2024-25 will be done through the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2024 to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on June 12, 2024.
The interested candidates may submit online application form for Integrated Teacher Education Programme from April 13, 2024 to April 30, 2024 (up to 11.30 P.M.).
This entrance test will be conducted in the form of Computer Based Test (CBT) in 13 languages (including Punjabi) across India. The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2024 irrespective of their age can appear in the National Common Entrance Test, 2024.
