TSPL inaugurates Microenterprise Center in Village Chellanwali, Mansa

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), Punjab’s largest thermal power plant established a microenterprise centre at Chellanwali village of district Mansa under its flagship project TARA. The centre was inaugurated by Jaswinder Kaur, DPM, Mansa in presence of Krittika Bhatt Head CSR Mansa and Village Sarpanch Baljit Singh.
The microenterprise centre is equipped with advanced stitching machines. Over 50 Self Help Group women have received training to operate these machines and are currently engaged in production of school uniforms. TSPL’s project TARA (TSPL Action for Rural Ajeevika) implemented by Ambuja Foundation aims at training and supporting women members of Self Help Groups formed under Punjab State Rural Livelihood Mission (PSRLM) with appropriate skills and linking them with income generation opportunities. In an attempt to encourage women SHG members the PSRLM Mansa has managed to get an order for govt. school uniform stitching by women associated with TARA common facility centre.
Jaswinder Kaur, DPM, PSRLM, Mansa appreciated TSPL’s effort and said, “I take this opportunity to acknowledge the efforts made by TSPL CSR team along with its implementing partner Ambuja Foundation and the support extended by its management for establishing this microenterprise centre. This centre equipped with high end machines will help SHG women to produce more no of unforms and earn more income. I would request TSPL to continue their support in establishing more such centres for the benefit of women in other villages.”
Krittika Bhatt,Head CSR TSPL said, “TSPL remains committed to supporting communities for a decent lifestyle. I express my sincere gratitude towards Jaswinder Kaur for her continued support, encouragement, and reposing trust in this initiative. It is a matter of great pride that women of chellanwali have bagged this order of stitching school uniform which will enhance their income.
