This year the theme of Yoga Day is ONE EARTH ONE HEALTH i.e. Yoga for holistic health and environmental harmony. We are a miniature version of mother earth and the environment around us.
यत् पिण्डे तत् ब्रह्माण्डे” So practising mindfulness and yoga can maintain the harmonious ecosystem.
Word, “Yoga”, is derived from sanskrit ” युज् धातु रूप – युजँ संयमने -“,means to join and add. YOGA is the process of joining your internal consciousness with the higher and supreme conscious, God. YOGA is an art of living and yogasans are scientific procedures.

Fixing the mind upon any object that appeals to one as good.
yathâ = as; abhimata = desired; dhyânât = meditative absorption

Evenness of mind is yoga. YOGA postulates keeping the body healthy, mind calm and peaceful. Yogic art is a cosmic art. These are the only exercises which effect the innermost parts of the body. Our Health status depends on the soundness of our internal organs. Nervous system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system, reproductive system ,skin and hair growth all these are benefitted with different yogasans. While doing yogic practices we awaken the inner strength of our body .Yogasans and Pranayam purifies the blood vessels, open up the lungs and made muscle mass more elastic, flexible and tonned enriching them with higher blood supply as well as oxygen. When physical structure is healthy the mind is serene,this intern activates inner powers. Thinking becomes positive and constructive guiding our actions in right direction with confidence. This is what accomplishment of YOGA FOR HUMANITY AND MOTHER EARTH.
