13th National Education Policy Orientation and Sensitization Programme Kicks Off at Punjabi University Patiala

An eight-day Orientation and Sensitization Programme on the National Education Policy has commenced today at the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Punjabi University, Patiala.
This programme aims to equip educators with the skills necessary for academic excellence, professional effectiveness, and active involvement in national development. It also seeks to broaden the understanding and acceptance of the National Education Policy. Prof. Raman Maini, Director of the UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre, Punjabi University, Patiala, stated that the programme, organized under the guidelines of the UGC-MHRD, will be conducted online from August 20 to August 29, 2024.
Prof. Maini emphasized the value of engaging resource persons of high intellectual standing to interact with participants, enhancing the training experience. The programme features distinguished speakers from leading Indian institutions and organizations, who will share their expertise throughout the event.
The chief guest of the day Prof. Narinder Kaur Multani, Dean Academic Affairs of Punjabi University Patiala,emphasized the transformative potential of the New Education Policy. She remarked that this policy is designed to foster holistic development in students by integrating traditional knowledge with modern skills. Prof. Multani also highlighted how the policy’s emphasis on multidisciplinary education, innovative pedagogy, and technology integration aims to create a more inclusive and flexible educational environment, preparing students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The Course Coordinators Dr. D.P Singh and Dr Lakhvir Singh Introduced the participants about the course. The inaugural Day Lecture sessions were delivered by Prof. Renu Nanda, Head of the Department of Education at the University of Jammu, with over three decades of experience in teaching &research and by Prof. Vasundhara Singh, a renowned professor of chemical engineering at PEC Chandigarh.
