2 farmers dead, 8 injured in Lakhimpur Kheri road rage case by minister’s convoy

Today, as per reports, 2 farmers have died and 8 were injured, including a Kisan leader Tejinder Singh Virk, in road rage case at Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh, when Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni‘s mounted a car on the farmers who were agitating in Lakhimpur Kheri. In this SKM leader Tejinder Singh Virk was injured. After this incident, it was alleged that the farmers occupied the helipad in Tikunia and set the vehicles on fire, as they said that the car is driven by Ajay Mishra’s son.

As per available reports, Kisan’s were protesting against the three farm bills on the road side with black flags in their hand and opposing the three agricultural bills. They were showing the black flags to the convoy of the minister.

“In Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, 2 farmers have died and 8 farmers were seriously injured after the vehicles of the ministers’ convoy crushed the farmers standing on the side of the road, protesting against the programme of the Union Minister of State for Home,” tweeted the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha, an umbrella body of farmers.

Farmers unions have said two of the protestors were allegedly run over by a vehicle in the convoy of the Union minister.The farmers sitting on the road were crushed by the vehicles of the convoy of BJP leaders.Farmer unions have claimed that eight farmers were injured and alleged that Ashish Mishra, son of Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Ajay Mishra, has been accused of running over protesting farmers with his car.

Visuals showed vehicles set on fire and several people, apparently injured, lying on the ground. Police rushed to the to restore law and order.
