200 screened in ortho, bariatric surgery camp at Bathinda

“Over 200 patients were examined at a free ortho and bariatric surgery camp on Thursday at Krishna Superspeciality Hospital, Bathinda, a unit of Park Group of Hospitals” said in a press communiqué.

Park Group of Hospitals is Northern India’s largest super specialty hospital network comprising of 19 hospitals, 3500 plus beds, 800 ICU beds, 14 cath labs, 45 modular OT’s and over 1000 specialist doctors, which are dedicated to advanced, ethical and patient-centric medical services.

Krishna Super Speciality Hospital, Bathinda is listed with CGHS, ECHS, Ayushman  Bharat, Punjab Government and all major TPA and Corporate panels.

Bone related problems and obesity related diseases were examined in the camp.

As per press release, in the camp, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh Saluja -director robotic arthroplasty center of excellence and DrAmit Garg- associate director bariatric and metabolic surgery examined the patients for their bone and obesity related problems.

Free orthopedic and bariatric consultation, physiotherapy guidance, and free X-ray and investigation facilities were also provided free during the camp.

On this occasion, Dr. Bhanu informed about the modern robotic knee replacement technology available under ‘Park Mahotsav’, under which free robotic technology is being made available to eligible patients till August 31, 2025.

He said our robotic knee surgery, which is powered by 3D augmented reality and artificial intelligence, is completed in just 12–15 minutes.

“There is no need for blood transfusion, stitches or drains. This surgery is done through a small incision of just 3.5–4 inches. The patient is allowed to walk after 4 hours. The patient can climb stairs the next day and recovers completely in 7–10 days.”

On the increasing problem of obesity in India, Dr. Amit Garg said that India is now among the top 3 countries in the world where obesity is increasing rapidly.
