As a precautionary measure, at least 27 airports across Northern Indian states of Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Leh and Chandigarh, among others, will remain closed till 5.29 a.m. on May 10. The decision was taken after India’s joint military action — Operation Sindoor — at nine locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the wee hours of Wednesday.
This resulted in a large number of flight cancellations by various Indian airlines operating domestic routes. Some international flights were also hit as airlines as they couldn’t use Pakistan’s airspace to enter into India.
Many of these airports are used jointly by airlines and the Indian Air Force. According to information posted by airlines on X, here’s the complete list of airports that will be shut
