2nd dose before 84 days: govt authorizes various officials for permission

Deputy Commissioner Girish Dyalan disclosed that for the Administration of 2nd Dose of Covishield vaccine prior to prescribed time interval (after 28 days but before 84 days) to persons intending to undertake international travel for specific purpose which includes Students who have to undertake foreign travel for the purposes of education, Persons who have to take up jobs in foreign countries, Athletes, Sportspersons and accompanying staff of Indian Contingent attending International Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, the eligibility of beneficiaries and the aforesaid permission is required to be given by the competent authority designated by District Administration.
To facilitate decentralized and easy access to eligible citizen for getting the aforesaid permission, the SDMS, Circle Revenue Officers, BDPOS, EOs of MC, Labor Inspector, AETC/ETO/ Excise Inspector, SHOS, RMOS, and elected representative of local and Urban Bodies are authorized as competent authorities to verify and give permissions to eligible persons for getting 2nd dose for Covishield after 28 days but before 84 days.
Before according the permission for administration of second dose before the period of 84 days after the date of first dose, the competent authority would check whether a period of 28 days has elapsed after the date of first dose, genuineness of the purpose of travel based on documents related to admission offers or associated formal communications for the purpose of education, whether a person is already studying in a foreign educational institution and has to return to that institution for continuing his/her education, interview calls for a job or offer letters for taking up employment and nomination to participate in the Tokyo Olympic Games.
This facility would be available to those who need to undertake international travel for these specified purposes in the period up to 31st August, 2021.
