35 pledge for organs donation in an event organised by Alchemist

As many as 35 employees including doctors of a private hospital at Panchkula took a pledge for organs donation by filling registration form during an ‘Awareness-cum-sensitization session’ event to mark World Organ Donation Day on Wednesday.
The event was organised by Alchemist Hospital in association with Regional Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (ROTTO), PGIMER.
The main motive for organizing event was to aware the people about importance of organs donation. The decision for organs donation after death or as a living donor is in fact the precious gift of life to many patients awaiting organ transplant. Besides it also helps many ongoing research projects across nation, which are conducted in medical research institutes.
While most organs and tissues donation can take place post death however some organs including kidney, part of a liver or lung and tissues can be donated while the donor is alive.
