54th Athletic Meet of Mata Gujri College successfully concludes

The 54th Athletic Meet was concluded at Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib under the guidance of Jagdeep Singh Cheema, Honorary Secretary, College Governing Body. Students of different departments of the college enthusiastically participated in high jump, broad jump, discus throw, javelin throw, shot put and running competitions in this sports festival.
Honorary Secretary Jagdeep Singh Cheema said that Mata Gujri College has been making invaluable contribution in the field of propagation of religion, education and sports.
Addressing the players on the occasion, Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh said that Mata Gujri College is committed to the holistic development of the students while meeting the present and educational needs of the area.
On this occasion Dr. Bikramjit Singh Sandhu, Dean Sports of the College welcomed the guests and highlighted the sports achievements of the College and future plans for further promotion of sports in the College.
Senior teachers Dr. Harminder Singh, Dr. Rashid Rashid, Prof. Mohammad Anwar Prof. Pushpinder Singh, and Sports Coaches Bahadur Singh, Satgur Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Dharam Singh and Joginderpal were present on the occasion. A motion of thanks was extended by Prof. Harjit Kaur, Head, Sports Department of the College.
The Best Athlete in Girls was won by Rupinder Kaur of BA Part II and the runner up award was received by Jashanpreet Kaur of BA Part I. Similarly, Umesh of BA Part I bagged the award for Best Athlete in Boys and Karanveer Singh of MA Fine Arts Part I bagged the runner up award.
