588 get degree at Annual Convocation of Mohindra College

The Government Mohindra College Patiala organised its Convocation for the session 2016-17 under the leadership of Principal Dr Sangeeta Handa. As Many as 588 Students were conferred Graduate and Post Graduate degrees on the occasion. Lt. Gen. N P S Hira (Retd.) PVSM, AVSM,SM, Ex Deputy chief of the Army staff and presently Chairman PPSC Punjab graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Hira was accompanied by his wife Kiranjit Hira ,a renowned figure working for welfare of war widows and education of special children.
Hira in his convocation address laid the emphasis on imparting holistic education for all round development of personality of the learners. He gave an inspiring message to the students to achieve their goals through hard work. “Don’t worry about competition, it’s only against yourself, put your head down, make a sincere effort and you will be surprised yourself with your performance” he further added. Gen. Hira also elaborated and appreciated the transparent requirement process adopted by PPSC and motivated students to take part in all available competition.
The function commenced by seeking the blessings of The Almighty by the recitation of Shabad “Dehe Shiva Var Mohe ehe”. Degrees were conferred on 588 students, including 320 graduates from the discipline BA, BSc, BA honours school, BCA and BBA and 268 postgraduates.
Among those who received the degrees at the convocation included: Jasguneet Kaur, Anjali Aggarwal, Rajni Garg, Pushpinder Dhaliwal, Maninder kaur, Aman, Sandeep Kaur, ย Indu Bala, Manjinder Kaur, Ranjit Kaur, Honey Kansal, Minki Kansal, Mandeep Kaur, Leena Garg, Baljit Kaur, Parminder Kaur, Satwant Singh, Kushwinder Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur and Jagdeep Singh.
College registrar examination Prof Meenakshi singal stated that these students had earlier brought laurels to the College by securing top positions in the university examination.ย Collegeย Principal Dr Sangeeta Handa introduced and extended a warm welcome to the chief guest.
Dr Raj Kumar Sharma(Retd.Principal), Dr Kusumย Lata officiating Principal Bikram College of Commerce, Prof Tarsem Singh, Prof Bhagwan Singh, Prof Pritam Singh Sodhi and Prof. S C Sharma were amongst the dignitaries present there. Proceedings were conducted by Prof. Jaghmohan Singh, Inder jit Sigh Cheema and Prof Amarjit Singh. Vice Principal of the college Prof Tripti Sharma proposed the vote of thanks.
