58th Engineers’ Day Celebrated at IEI Bathinda Local Centre

The Institution of Engineers (India), Bathinda Local Centre, celebrated the 58th Engineers’ Day with great enthusiasm at its premises in Kartar Colony, Bathinda. The theme for this year’s celebration was “Deep Tech & Engineering Excellence: Driving India’s Techade.”

The event was graced by eminent personalities from the engineering fraternity. Dr. R.K. Bansal (FIE), Director, Punjab Institute of Technology, Nandgarh, was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Er. Sukhjot Singh Sidhu, Dy. Chief Engineer, PSPCL, attended as the Guest of Honour.

The program featured an insightful keynote by Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor (ECE), YDOE Talwandi Sabo, who highlighted the role of deep technologies and engineering innovation in shaping India’s future.

As part of the celebrations, various competitions in project design and technical presentations were organized for students. Participants showcased their innovative ideas and technical skills. The students with the best presentations and projects were appreciated with mementoes and cash prizes, encouraging them to pursue excellence in engineering.

The gathering was warmly welcomed by Er. Kartar Singh Brar, Chairman, IE(I) Bathinda Local Centre, while Dr. Harsimran Singh, Honorary Secretary, IE(I) BLC, extended the formal vote of thanks. Dr. Jagtar Singh Sivia, Immediate Past Chairman, IE(I) BLC, also shared his views on the significance of Engineers’ Day.

The event was attended by engineers, academicians, and students, who paid rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the legendary engineer whose birth anniversary is observed as Engineers’ Day across the country.

The celebrations concluded with a resolve to foster innovation, excellence, and commitment towards nation-building through engineering.
