6 residents of Mohali dead on way to Hemkund Sahib

Six pilgrims were killed while four were injured after boulders fell on a tempo traveler number PB 01 A7524 in which they were travelling in near Teen Dhara area of Devprayag in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttrakhand, today in the afternoon. The identities of the victims are yet to be ascertained by the police.

As per police officials total 10 pilgrims were travelling in a tempo traveler when this mishap happened. They were of 35-50 years. They were on the pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib in Uttrakhand when this mishap happened.

As per sources, the mishap happened when they were going to Gobind Ghat on Rishikesh Badrinath highway.

Four of them were injured. All the injured have been sent to AIIMS in Rishikesh where one of them is still critical, police said.

Soon after receiving the information, police along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot to undertake rescue operation. According to the district administration, while five persons were declared dead on the spot, five others who sustained injuries were shifted to the Community Hospital in Devaprayag for immediate medical aid. Later one of them succumbed to the injury.
