9th meeting of Academic Council held at MRSPTU- New job oriented courses launched

The 9th meeting of the Academic Council of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda took place on Tuesday.

The meeting covered a range of significant topics, including discussions on course syllabi, the introduction of new courses, eligibility criteria, and courses to be conducted in Punjabi medium.

Professor Buta Singh Sidhu, the Vice-Chancellor of MRSPTU, chaired the meeting, with Dr. Kawaljit Singh Sandhu, the Dean of Academic Affairs, presenting the agenda.

During the meeting, Professor Sidhu emphasized the importance of adapting syllabi to meet global challenges and the changing job market. He highlighted the university’s commitment to launching vocational courses that provide students with better employment prospects. He also commended the Admission Committee for their exceptional performance, resulting in a significant increase in admissions for the current academic session.

A major highlight of the meeting was the approval of two new courses for affiliated colleges, namely B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with specializations in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering with a focus on Internet of Things and Cyber Security, including Blockchain Technology.

Additionally, the Academic Council introduced a Non-Credit Course titled “The Maharaja of People,” which delves into the life and administrative strategies of the great emperor, Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

9th meeting of Academic Council held at MRSPTU- New job oriented courses launched.Several other decisions were made during the meeting, including the approval of the Scheme and Syllabus for MBA in Hospital Administration, B.Com in Aviation, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and BBA-MBA programs.

Furthermore, it was decided to offer B.A. in Journalism & Mass Communication and B.A. in Computer Science in both Punjabi and English languages to accommodate students from diverse rural linguistic backgrounds.

The 9th meeting of the Academic Council at MRSPTU was a significant step forward in expanding educational opportunities and adapting to the evolving needs of students and the job market.
