In a shocking incident, 33-year-old Navneet Singh Bhatti, known as “Novi,” was murdered in broad daylight on November 29, 2024, near the Ghalaudi Gate Cremation Ground close to Sanori Adda, Patiala.
Navneet Singh, a resident of Patiala, had visited the cremation ground near Ghalori Gate along the canal road with his family to collect the ashes of his uncle who was cremated yesterday.
According to witnesses, the attackers were wearing shawls and monkey caps. They fired multiple rounds, three of which hit Navneet, leading to his death on the spot.The attackers fled toward the highway after executing the crime within minutes
As per available information, Novi, the adopted son of Hardeep Singh Tiwana (“Bawa Ji”), had been embroiled in a bitter property dispute with his adoptive uncles, Raghbir Singh Tiwana (“Mithu”) and Sukhbir Singh Tiwana (“Babli”), who reside in Mohali.
As per sources, the conflict began in 2020 after Bawa Ji transferred over 70% ownership of the Bawa Resort, now renamed Royal ArK in Dharampur, Himachal Pradesh, to Novi, leaving the ancestral property to his brothers.
