In a bid to tackle traffic congestion in Patiala’s markets, SDM Manjit Kaur, under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, led a comprehensive traffic regulation campaign. Accompanied by police and municipal corporation teams, she conducted inspections across major market areas, including Tripuri Market, Adalat Bazaar, and Anardana Chowk.

During the campaign, white lines were marked on market roads to designate two-wheeler parking zones. Residents were urged to park within these lines to ensure smooth traffic movement and reduce congestion. Shopkeepers and trade association representatives were instructed do not placing goods or signage on roads to prevent obstructions.

SDM Manjit Kaur emphasized that designated parking areas for four-wheelers, located outside the markets, must be utilized by drivers to avoid traffic disruptions.

The inspection team included DSP City-1 Satnam Singh, Municipal Corporation Land Branch official Manish Puri, SHO Kotwali Harjinder Singh Dhillon, and SHO Division No. 2 Surjit Singh. The team urged strict compliance with traffic rules and regulations, aiming for long-term improvement in traffic management.

Addressing the public, SDM Manjit Kaur stated that this campaign, initiated under DC Dr. Preeti Yadav’s directions, will continue to ensure order in the city’s markets. She cautioned that violators would face strict action and appealed for public cooperation, stating, “Resolving traffic issues requires collective effort from the community.”
