Inter Disciplinary Refresher Course in “Social Sciences” successfully concludes at UGC-MMTTC at Punjabi University, Patiala

The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre at Punjabi University, Patiala, is delighted to announce the successful completion of the Inter Disciplinary Courses Refresher Course in “Social Sciences”. This intensive 12-days programme was conducted offline from November 19, 2024, to December 02, 2024, in accordance with the instructions of UGC-MHRD. Participants from various states and esteemed universities across India attended the Refresher Course.
The valedictory session commenced with the university Dhuni, followed by a warm welcome note from the
Director, UGC-MMTTC, Punjabi University, Patiala, Prof. (Dr.) Raman Maini. Dr.Maini remarked, “It has been an enriching 12 days filled with insightful discussions, intensive learning, and meaningful interactions”. Dr.Maini expressed his heartfelt thanks to the for his continuous support to all the Courses organised by UGC-MMTTC, Punjabi University Patiala. He congratulated all the participants on successful completion of the course. He said that this programme must have catered to their needs be it in their Teaching and Learning Skills, Communication skills as well as in their Personality development.He really appreciated all the resource persons who supported this Refresher Course, especially in guiding the teacher trainees through their lectures on various aspects of Higher Education.
The session continued with an inspiring address by the Chief Guest, Dr.Sanjiv Puri, Registrar of the Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr Puri said, “This programme has provided a unique platform for faculty members from various institutions across India to come together, share experiences, and learn from one another. Dr. Puri while sharing his experience with the participants said that “we need to broaden our vision”. According to Prof. Dua, “To be happy, one has to be good practitioner of employing human values and professional ethics in one’s daily lives”.Dr. Puri also appreciated Director of the UGC-MMTTC Dr.Raman Maini for working so hard for the successful completion of the course.
Participants also shared their feedback and showcased cultural programmes, adding a vibrant touch to the event.
Dr. Deepak Kumar, Course Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks by expressing his heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest, Dr.Sanjiv Puri and all those who were present in the meeting.He congratulated all the participants on successful completion of the course.He further emphasised that education should focus on character building.He highlighted that teachers must have holistic perspective which can be developed through Indian Knowledge System.
During the closing remarks, Dr Maini extended heartfelt praise and gratitude to the dedicated staff members Mandeep Singh, Dyal Dutt, Surinder Singh, Kanta Rani, Mahaveer Singh, Surinder Kumar highlighting their exemplary organizational skills and crucial contributions in ensuring that all sessions were conducted seamlessly in an offline format.
