Kapurthala MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh today said that his business and politics and even public life are completely transparent and clean. The legislator was talking to the press after surprise checks at his premises by the teams of income tax (IT) department concluded.
I extend full cooperation to the authorities and respect the legal processes in place”, he said.
The MLA emphasized that the scrutiny spanned for almost 5 days, was conducted peacefully and professionally and all documents and records sought by the authorities have been provided.
He clarified that his family runs business operations in different states and it is right of the IT department to scrutinise the records. “I want to reiterate that my businesses are run with full integrity and contribute towards common good and welfare”, he said.
Speaking on his role in the family business, Rana Gurjeet Singh said that for past 22 years he has been focussing on public service and agriculture with tremendous passion and his family looks after the business. “My focus remains on serving the people of Punjab and ensuring the overall development in whatever way I could contribute as MLA,” he said.

Rana Gurjeet Singh revealed that he was scheduled to meet farmers in Talwandi Sabo on last week to motivate them for crop diversification but a day before that the IT teams came. “The meeting with the farmers will be held soon,” he said.
