UGC-MMTTC, Punjabi University, Patiala starts on-line Refresher Course on “Research Methodology (Science & Arts Subjects)”

The UGC-Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC) at Punjabi University, Patiala, has launched On-line Refresher Courses on Research Methodology (Science & Arts Subjects)commenced today in an online mode, bringing together a diverse group of academicians, researchers, and scholars from across the country.
The Refresher Course focuses on “Research Methodology (Science & Arts Subjects)” and will be conducted online, offering participants an immersive learning experience. This course is designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on training in contemporary research methodologies applicable to both science and arts disciplines. the refresher course aims to equip participants with essential research skills, data analysis techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches.
The session was graced by Dr. Maninder Lal Singh, Director Research and Professor, Department of Electronics Technology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, as the Chief Guest for inaugural session. He said this refresher course is a significant initiative to equip participants with the essential tools and techniques required for rigorous academic inquiry. He encourages all the participants to send their research papers in reputed journals with high impact factor and to actively engage, explore interdisciplinary approaches, and strive for excellence in their research endeavours. He said this refresher course is more than just an opportunity to update your academic knowledge.
Prof. Raman Maini, Director of MMTTC and Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala emphasized that this refresher course, structured in accordance with UGC-MMTTC guidelines, are part of the university’s commitment to continuous professional development. Prof. Maini welcomed the chief guest of the day, Dr. Maninder Lal Singh, Professor,Department of Electronics Technology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Dr. Maini said that the sessions will be conducted by eminent experts and resource persons from reputed institutions, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all attendees.
He expressed gratitude to Course Coordinator,Dr. Richa Shri, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Research, Punjabi University, Patialaand Course Co-coordinator Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Professor, Department of Psychology, Punjabi University, Patiala for their efforts in organizing this programme and securing the participation of distinguished resource persons. He appreciated the efforts of non-teaching staff members for their hard work in organising these courses.
The Course Coordinator, Dr. Richa Shri,emphasized the significance of robust research methodologies in advancing knowledge and innovation. The Course Co-Coordinator, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, highlighted the objectives of the program, stressing its role in fostering a research-oriented mindset among academicians and professionals. She said that this two-week-long course will cover key aspects such as research design, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, statistical tools, literature review techniques, and ethical considerations in research.
