Punjab Revenue Employees Joint Action Committee announces mass casual leave ; DC office employees extends support

Punjab Revenue Employees Joint Action Committee comprising Punjab Revenue Officers Association (PROA), DC Office Employees Union, Punjab, The Revenue Kanugo Association, Punjab and The Revenue Patwar Union, Punjab has announces a mass casual leave on March 5,2025 against the Punjab government decision to suspend 15 revenue officers.

The Joint Action Committee is also organizing its meeting at Moga to chalk out their further plan of action.

As per Tajinder Singh, President, DC Office Employees Union, Punjab “the state government has called the delegation of Punjab Revenue Employees Joint Action Committee for a meeting with Revenue Minister Hardeep Singh Mudian and FCR Punjab government on March 4,2025 at Chandigarh. The meeting was fixed by DC Ludhiana. But nobody came to meet us to discuss our issues, problems and rather suspends 14 tehsildars, naib tehsildars”.

He further added that “ we are not supporting any corrupt officer. The joint action committee is demanding fair investigation in the FIR lodged by vigilance department at Ludhiana in a sale deed. The revenue department officer is booked for executing a sale deed of a person who had submitted a fake pan card, aadhar card. Instead of registering the case against the witness, nambardar , the revenue officer was booked. In the FIR the vigilance has not mentioned about any bribe money was given in the sale deed”

He added that “we are not against the state government decision to act against corrupt officials. The association never came in support of its members who indulge in corruption. The revenue department adds Rs 30 cr daily in state government exchequer”

A revenue department officer on the condition of anonymity added ” the state governments statement has damaged the image of revenue department officials in the eyes of Public. In the, past the wedding of an engaged daughter of a revenue department official was broken just because of these false allegations of corruption leveled against us.”

Another revenue department officer on the condition of anonymity said “ the revenue department officers including Tehsildars, naib Tehsildars, Kanugos, Patwaris all were working in their offices and are working as usual. Thesildars had only declared that they are not going to do the registration work, rest work is being done by the officers. Moreover the government had deputed Kanugos, Revenue department superintendent grade 2 who has cleared the exam of Naib Tehsildars and are now eligible for the post ,for registration of sale deeds. Not all Kanugos, Revenue department superintendent grade 2 were deputed in Punjab for registration work.”

Punjab Revenue Employees Joint Action Committee announces mass casual leave ; DC office employees extends support. Moreover The Revenue Patwar Union, Punjab president Balraj Singh Aujla said “we will participate in Joint Action Committee meeting at Moga. Patwaris are working today but we all are wearing black badges to mark our protest. Moreover we will abide by the Joint Action Committee’s decision, plan.”
