International Women’s Day Celebrated at Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala

The HEIS department of Govt. Bikram College of Commerce, Patiala organized a special celebration for International Women’s Day with great zeal and zest. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Kusum Lata graced the occasion with her presence on the occasion.
This year, the theme of International Women’s Day is,“For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” which is a worldwide call to acknowledge strategies, resources, and activities that positively impact women’s advancement, and to support and elevate their implementation.
The Principal spoke about the crucial role of women in shaping society. She emphasized that the day serves as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women across all sectors of life.
Dr.Reetu Kapoor, Member Secretary, HEIS, welcomed the Principal and the faculty members. She said that the celebration was a meaningful initiative by the college, creating a sense of appreciation and respect for women and reinforcing the importance of gender equality.
IQAC Coordinator Dr.Rekha Rani said that by supporting initiatives that empower women and challenge discrimination, we can collectively accelerate the journey towards a more equitable world. The program was attended by all staff members making it a vibrant and engaging gathering.
To celebrate the spirit of Women’s Day, Hitbullseye and Tanishq Patiala honoured staff members with special cake and goodies. The gesture was a token of appreciation and respect for their contributions.
