Punjab government has changed the special investigation team (SIT) head ADGP SPS Parmar and appointed anther ADGP ranked officer AS Rai, IPS in infamous Col. Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case.
The government has changed SIT head Parmar after he his appointment as chief director vigilance bureau, Punjab. Other two members of the team – Hoshiarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sandeep Malik and SAS Nagar Superintendent of Police (SP Rural) Manpreet Singh will remain in the SIT .

Parmar was appointed as SIT chief on March 21 to investigate the assault case but was transferred on March 26, as chief director vigilance, replacing ADGP G. Nageswara Rao. Following his reassignment, he has formally requested that a new official be appointed to lead the SIT.
The Punjab Police had constituted the SIT under Parmar’s leadership to conduct a thorough probe into the incident involving Colonel Bath. The SIT was instructed to conduct a daily investigation, collect evidence, and take legal action based on its findings.
