Patiala’s Ishita Represents Global Youth at ECOSOC Youth Forum 2025, UN Headquarters, New York

Ishita Kapoor participated in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum-2025, held from April 15–17 at the United Nations Headquarters, New York as part of the United Nations Youth Delegation and a Major Group for Children and Youth (MGCY) Representative.
In her capacity as a Global Youth Ambassador with Theirworld, she passionately advocated for Gender Equality and Girls’ Education. Throughout the Forum, she emphasized the urgent need for inclusive, youth-driven policies to dismantle systemic barriers affecting young girls and women across the Global South.
“Youth don’t need to be told we are the future. We are the present—and we are here.,” said Ishita.
The Forum brought together young leaders from around the world to engage in global policymaking and accelerate progress on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Ishita Kapoor hails from Patiala.Her parents Sachin Kapoor & Meenu Rani lives in Patiala.She completed her schooling from Blossoms Senior Secondary School, Patiala. Presently, she is student of BA(Hons.) International Relations & Politics at University of Greenwich, London.
Her parents said, “She has been selected to represent Major Group for Children and Youth as part of the NRI Delegation at the ECOSOC Youth Forum. She had also participated in a session at the UK House of Commons, engaging with MP Stephen Morgan on key global issues affecting youth. Being Global Youth Ambassador, TheirWorld, she is advocating for education equity and sustainable development goals on a global platform, she is working with international stakeholders to drive change”.

ECOSOC stands for Economic and Social Council, which is a United Nations body that coordinates economic and social issues. It’s one of the UN’s six main organs, created in 1945
