Rupnagar DC and SSP spend the whole day with the 9 meritorious students, shared experiences for success in life

Today was a memorable day for 9 students of government schools who came in meritorious in the results of 10th and 12th and spent whole day with Deputy Commissioner Varjit Singh Walia and SSP Rupnagar Gulneet Singh Khurana.

Under the program ‘Ek Din DC and SSP De Sang’ started by the Punjab Government for meritorious students, 9 students of the district stayed with the Deputy Commissioner and SSP for the whole day and saw the office work at district administrative complex, Rupnagar. The children, who only knew the route from their home to school, got the opportunity to sit with the Deputy Commissioner and SSP, see the workings of the office, listen to the problems of the people and learn about the methods of solving them.

All these students were from government schools, including 12th grade student Sharman Yadav of Government Senior Secondary School Kanya Rupnagar who secured 97.60 percent marks, 10th grade student Jatin Kumar of Government Senior Secondary School Dhamana who secured 97.54 percent marks, 10th grade student Nandini of Government Senior Secondary School Kanya Nangal who secured 97.38 percent marks, Janatveer Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School Purkhali who secured 96.92 percent marks, Suraj of Government Senior Secondary School Ghanoli who secured 97.60 percent marks, 10th grade student Himashu Kumar of Government High School Kalitran who secured 97.54 percent marks, 12th grade student Harsh Gupta of Government Senior Secondary School Purkhali who secured 97.40 percent marks, Vivek Kumar of Government Adarsh ​​Senior Secondary School Lodhipur who secured 97.20 percent marks and student Diksha of Government Kanya Senior Secondary School Dher who secured 97.20 percent marks.

Deputy Commissioner said that ‘the purpose of this program is to guide deserving children to fulfill their dreams’.

On this occasion, students asked the Deputy Commissioner and SSP about the difficulties they faced on the way to this point and the officers shared their experiences in detail. The Deputy Commissioner shared his journey of passing the UPSC test and gave the children the mantra of hard work and never giving up.

SSP   Gulneet Singh Khurana inspired the students to dream big, pursue them with unwavering dedication and overcome impossible challenges with hard work and determination.

At the DC and SSP office, the students closely observed the office work throughout the day. They witnessed the proceedings of the monthly meeting of the District Administration, Rupnagar, in which almost all the departments and high officials of the district were present.

The students had their lunch with Additional Deputy Commissioner (D) IAS Chandrajyoti Singh and SP Headquarters IPS Arvind Meena, after which the students were also taken on a tour of IIT.

Student Sharman Yadav said that ‘after spending the whole day with the high officials of the district, I have felt that a lot of hard work is required to reach any position.’ She said that her dream has taken flight and she will overcome every challenge and achieve her goal.

Rupnagar DC and SSP spend the whole day with the 9 meritorious students, shared experiences for success in life. DC also honoured the students with a certificate of appreciation and a trophy for their achievements in their studies.

On this occasion, RTA Gurvinder Singh Johal, SP Gurdeep Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Arvinderpal Singh Somal, Chief Minister Field Officer Jasjit Singh, SDM Sri Chamkaur Sahib Amrik Singh, SDM Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Sri Anandpur Sahib Jaspreet Singh, SDM Nangal Sachin Pathak, District Revenue Officer Badaldin, Xen Mining Tushar Goyal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Swapanjit Kaur, Deputy District Education Officer Surinderpal Singh, Education Coordinator Harpreet Singh and all other high officials of the district were present.
