Punjab win 2nd National Wheelchair Cricket Championship

Chandigarh, Punjab Wheelchair Cricket team won 2nd National Wheelchair Cricket Championship by beating Chhatisgarh team by 10 wickets in a one-sided final match at Noida on Sunday.
In tournament which started on March 2, the 12 teams participated. The tournament was organized by Wheelchair India Cricket Association.
Punjab team defeated UP & Rajasthan before reaching in semi-final. In semi-final, Punjab beat Karnatka by chasing 197 runs in 19.1 overs.
Batting first , Karnatka made 195 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. Punjab replied strongly and achieved the target in 19.1 overs.
In second semifinal, Chhattisgarh beat Gujarat by 5 wickets. Batting first, Gujarat team was bundled out for 99 runs in 17.4 over. Chhattisgarh smashed 100 runs in just 9.2 overs by losing 5 wickets.
In the final , Punjab gave strong performance by getting Chattisgarh all out for merely 28 runs in 5.4 overs.
For Punjab, Ranjit Singh who took 8 wickets in 3 overs by giving only 11 runs was not only adjusted man of match in final but also bagged awards for best bowler and player of the tournament.
Singh who made hatrick in final, also won the final for Punjab single-handedly by making 29 runs in 15 balls. Punjab achieved target in just 2.5 over without losing any wicket.
