Once again health minister Dr Balbir Singh’s dream project turns into dark, officers’ unaware about system failure

Once again Rajindra Hospital has opened up a Pandora box, exposing the flaws in Punjab’s health minister Dr Balbir Singh’s dream project.
As per reports today the hospital turned into dark zone at around 9:30 pm with no power supply for around 10-15 minutes.
When contacted the PSPCL official, he said “let me check it”. Later he said “there is no problem from our side (PSPCL). The powercom is supplying regular power to the hospital. If any problem had occurred, the staff had immediately contacted me and seniors. ”
When contacted the XEN, electrical, PWD-B&R Paramjit Singh, he said “ I have no idea. I’ll check it and get back to you.”
Later the PWD-B& R official said,” the light has gone in ward area, outer areas etc due to tripping of a breaker. But supply to critical areas like ICU, emergency, MCH etc remained regular, without any break. We immediately rectified the error and restored the supply. ”
As per available information, the department is also facing a shortage of manpower causing delay in handling emergency situations.
Meanwhile medical superintendent of Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala Dr Harnam Singh Reikhi couldn’t be contacted despite repeated attempts.
Govt Rajindra Hospital’s up gradation is a dream project of Dr Balbir Singh. He is regularly reviewing the projects at hospital.Even CM Mann is monitoring it closely. AAP government is improving the infrastructure, facilities, system since assuming power in Punjab
