JGND Punjab State Open University observes Gandhi Jayanti

School of Social Sciences and Liberal Art (SSLA), Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala organized a webinar on “Relevance of Gandhian Philosophy in Contemporary Global Challenges.” The objective of the event was to highlight the Significance of Ghandhian principles of of truth, non-violence, and Sarvodaya in addressing contemporary issues such as global conflicts, climate crisis, economic disparities, and social justice.
Prof. Anil Dutta Mishra, Treasurer, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) Delhi Regional Branch, distinguished Gandhian scholar was the Resource Person. He elaborated on Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy continues to provide practical guidance in tackling modern global challenges. Prof. Mishra emphasized that Gandhiji’s vision of non-violence and sustainability serves guiding principles for peace, ethical governance, and environmental balance in the 21st century.
Earlier, Dr. Amitoj Singh, Associate Dean Academic Affairs welcomed the participants. Vote of Thanks was extended by Dr. Sukhpal Kaur, Head, Admission Cell. Faculty and staff were also presented during the event. Dr. Parampreet Kaur, Head, SSLA was the coordinator of the event. Faculty members, research scholars, students, and participants from various institutions actively joined the webinar and engaged in meaningful discussion.
