Punjab Police DIG arrested by CBI in Corruption Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday arrested Punjab Police Ropar Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Harcharan Singh Bhullar from his office in Mohali.
According to sources one more private individual was also whisked away by CBI officers in connection with a corruption case.

Sources revealed that the CBI Chandigarh acted on a complaint filed by a scrap dealer from Fatehgarh. The CBI team ensured that no Punjab Police personnel on deputation were part of the raiding party.
As per Sources said that DIG has been accused of taking Rs. 5 lakh bribe every month.
A, 2009- Batch IPS officer, HS Bhullar is a son of former Punjab DGP Mehal Singh Bhullar. He has held several key positions in the Punjab Police including heading the Special Investigation Team that questioned Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia on drug smuggling charges.
