Ryan Patiala Pioneers Career Exploration with Diverse Internship Programs

Ryan International School, Patiala, successfully completed its pioneering Term 1, School-Level Internship Program for students of Standard VI to VIII. Following the successful initiation of the Std 9-12 internship programs, this middle-school initiative further solidifies the school’s commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world experience.
The program offered a series of specialized internship sessions designed to give young learners a tangible feel for diverse career fields. Students from STD. VI–VIII attended these sessions, where the AI Internship by Er. Priya Sidhu, M.Tech (CSE), Junior Research Fellow, Punjabi University, Patiala introduced concepts like machine learning, neural networks, and automation to 37 students, encouraging careers in data science and robotics. In the Law Internship, 52 students learned from Ms. Poonam Jain (LLM) about terms such as criminal law, civil law, FIR, and IPC, highlighting the crucial roles of justice and equality in legal careers. The Coding Internship saw 44 students guided by Er. Ramandeep Kaur, M.Tech (CSE), Senior Research Fellow, Punjabi University, Patiala, Mr. Jitesh Pubreja and Mr. Aashish from Blue Aves E-Health Services, ltd. through algorithms, syntax, and loops, steering them toward careers in software development and app creation. Finally, the Makeup Artistry Internship by Shweta Makeovers fascinated 32 students with explorations into cosmetology, salon management, and self-grooming, complete with creative makeover demonstrations. These diverse sessions significantly enriched students’ knowledge and motivated them to explore multiple career paths long before they reach senior school.
The core of the program lies in the profound student experience and the resulting learning outcomes. By participating in these practical, focused sessions, students moved beyond textbook knowledge to engage in critical thinking, practical application, and early career exploration. This hands-on approach directly addresses the requirements of modern education, ensuring that students enhance their skills in decision-making and professional communication. By experiencing different professional work cultures firsthand, the initiative successfully prepares students for today’s dynamic professional landscape.
