After being stranded in Tajikistan for several weeks, seven Punjabi youths from Rupnagar district safely returned to India and were warmly welcomed by BJP District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura and his team at Hotel Aashirwad, Rupnagar. The safe return of these youths has brought relief and joy to their families and the entire region. The youths had reportedly been trapped in Tajikistan by a travel agent who deceived them with false promises of good jobs abroad.

BJP District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura stated that he received information that seven young men from the district had been lured with promises of driving jobs but were instead forced into hard labor in Tajikistan. The matter was extremely sensitive, and the families of the youths were in deep distress.

After several days of coordination, assistance from the Indian Embassy, and the prompt response of the central government, all the youths finally returned home safely. During the reception held at Hotel Aashirwad, Lalpura said that this was the result of the central government’s sensitivity and the BJP’s commitment to public service.

While sharing their ordeal, the youths said they had been stranded in harsh conditions. They said, “We endured cold weather, hunger, fear, and poor food. Instead of being given driving jobs, we were forced to do manual labor. We ran out of money and had no way to escape. When we learned that the Indian government and Ajayvir Singh Lalpura were trying to rescue us, it gave us hope.”

They further revealed that they were made to work against their will and were even threatened. Their documents and passports were confiscated, leaving them helpless. Under such dire circumstances, they appealed for help through social media and their families.

On this occasion, Ajayvir Singh Lalpura said this incident should serve as a strong lesson for everyone — that youths must verify the authenticity of agents before going abroad. He said, “We must ensure that our young people are not trapped by false promises or unscrupulous agents. The BJP and the central government remain committed to helping families whose children are still stranded overseas.”

The event was attended by senior BJP leaders, Yuva Morcha workers, and the families of the returned youths. Lalpura honored the returning youths and assured everyone that the safety of every Indian citizen remains the BJP government’s highest priority. He also promised that the party and the administration will continue to stand by the people in any such future situation.

Everyone present expressed heartfelt gratitude to the central government and BJP leadership, whose intervention made this possible. The atmosphere during the event was emotional, and the families were visibly relieved and tearful.

On this occasion, Jagdish Chandra Kajla stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government is fully committed to the safety of its citizens. He said, “India’s strength is recognized across the world, and it is because of that global respect that every Indian working abroad today feels secure. It is this strength that ensured the safe return of these young men.” He also praised District President Ajayvir Singh Lalpura for his relentless efforts.
