IIT Ropar’s Second Edition of Research Conclave on 14-15th May 2019

Being committed to promote Science and Engineering and emerging into a knowledge hot-spot globally, IIT Ropar is organizing its second edition of Research Conclave in which more than 240 researchers with around 110 posters will be presented. The event is intended to create a platform for the budding researchers and aim is to nurture the young researchers and students from nationwide to keep pace with the latest development in the field.

The event will showcase some of the cutting edge research being carried out by students, and research scholars across several diverse disciplines from energy, biomedical, ICT, civil, mechanical, chemical, mathematical and physical sciences to the biological sciences.

The Research Conclave also aims to bring together the scholars of various institutes of the region by providing a platform for scientific exchange through posters, model presentations, discussions, workshops and technical sessions. The lectures by the renowned scientists and technologists of the country will definitely add a tremendous value to this event. The quantum of dedication and devotion expressed by the faculty and students of IIT Ropar and also by Industry Partners to contribute for Research Conclave, will undeniably make this event a grand success.”, said Prof. J N Agrewala, Dean Research, IIT Ropar.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. S.K.Das, Director IIT Ropar said, “IIT Ropar is holding its second edition of research conclave. It is a brilliant platform to present and share research experiences and the opportunity to interact with leading researchers from all around the globe. We aim to bring together top industrialists and people from academia to discuss what the challenges to industry-academia collaboration are and ways to overcome these challenges. We hope that this event will be the start of a new and better relationship of collaboration and synergy between the two domains.”

Divulging more he added, the research conclave will have eminent speakers from prestigious institutes, Prof. Manohar L Munjal, IISc Bengaluru, Prof. Arun K. Grover, ex VC, Panjab University, Prof. K.P. Singh, IISER Mohali, Dr. Bhupinder Grewal and Dr. Naresh K Sahajpal will share their substantial and valuable research initiatives with the students. Additionally, industry delegates will also be visiting the conclave.

This year IIT Ropar has invited the Wildlife and Bird Photography Club of Chandigarh to display the rare and beautiful photographs of the City Rupnagar and display them in the exhibition. The Exhibition is open for the students of the Institute. Speaking on this, Prabhat Bhatti, Wildlife and bird Photographer said, this is the right platform to display the beauty of Rupnagar captured in the pictures, which will add colour to the event. We also will speak about the environmental impact on the wildlife due to alarming pollution.” 

The day will also witness the recognition of faculty awarded with prestigious awards and fellowships. Among them Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Department of Physics and Dr. Rajendra Srivastava, Department of Chemistry will be felicitated with Faculty Research and Innovation Award 2018-19.
