Full dress rehearsal of Republic Day function held in Nawanshahr

In view of the forthcoming 77th Republic Day, a full dress rehearsal for the district-level Republic Day function was held at the local ITI Ground here on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) SBS Nagar Gulpreet Singh Aulakh attended the rehearsal and reviewed the arrangements.
During the rehearsal, the Deputy Commissioner also unfurled the National Flag. Subsequently, along with SSP SBS Nagar Tushar Gupta, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the parade and took the salute from March past led by the Parade Commander.
Through the CM Di Yogshala, yoga trainers and students highlighted the importance of yoga and conveyed the message of a healthy life. Students from different schools also performed cultural activities including choreography, martial art Gatka, Gidha and Bhangra. Students also sang the National Anthem.
Deputy Commissioner Gulpreet Singh Aulakh later held a meeting with concerned officers at the ground to finalise the arrangements for the district-level Republic Day ceremony. Directing officials to ensure seamless arrangements, he informed that Punjab Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education & Research Minister Dr Balbir Singh would pay floral tributes to Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh and other martyrs at Khatkar Kalan on January 26, followed by unfurling of the National Flag at the ITI Ground. He stated that besides patriotic cultural performances, tableaus from various departments showcasing different schemes and works would also be part of the programme.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all concerned departments to make concerted efforts to make the Republic Day celebrations remarkable. He directed the officers to discharge their duties with utmost dedication for the smooth conduct of the grand event, emphasizing meticulous planning and execution.
On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur, SDM Nawanshahr Anamjot Kaur, Assistant Commissioner General Jagdeep Singh, and officers from other departments were present.
