Admission Drive: DC Mansa flags off dedicated van

Deputy Commissioner, Mansa, Navjot Kaur IAS, today flagged off a dedicated awareness van for admission drive of government schools.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised that education is the fundamental right of every child. She highlighted that government schools now boast highly qualified teachers, quality education, and modern facilities that match or surpass private institutions. “This campaign will further build parents’ confidence in government schools,” she said. She urged maximum efforts to motivate parents and students for admissions.
The awareness van will tour villages and towns until January 30, informing families about the facilities available in government schools and promoting enrolments to ensure affordable, high-quality education for all children.
District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Neelam Rani stated that the standard of education in government schools has been consistently elevated and now exceeds that of private schools in every respect. She noted that the government fully funds educational tours for students and appealed to parents to choose government schools for their children.
On its first day, the van will visit Khiala Kalan, Kotra Kalan, Samaon, Bhikhi, Kishangarh Pharwahi, Dalel Singh Wala, Bappiana, Lalluana, School of Eminence Mansa, Government Senior Secondary School (Girls) Mansa, Gandhi Nagar, Mansa Bus Stand, and several other locations.

District Education Officer (Primary Education) Manju Rani highlighted the provision of free textbooks, uniforms, and mid-day meals, stressing that the campaign’s primary goal is to bring every child into the school system.
Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary Education) Dr. Parmjeet Bhogal said the van would reach households across the district, predicting a significant rise in new admissions.
On the occasion, Principal Kuldeep Singh (Block Nodal Officer, Mansa), DIET Principal Boota Singh Sekhon, Assistant Director SCRT, Satpal Singh (Block Primary Education Officer), Amritpal Singh (District Sports Coordinator) and other officials were present.
