SSP Patiala dismissed 11 police personnel from service

Senior Superintendent of Police Patiala Mandeep Singh Sidhu today ordered the dismissal of 11 Punjab Police personnel’s including six station house officers (SHOs) , three head constables, two constables from service for their alleged involvement in corruption and drug related cases.
Mandeep Singh Sidhu said a detailed probe conducted by the department found that these police personnel’s , including a woman SHO, were either involved in cases of drug trafficking or corruption.
According to the SSP, assistant sub inspectors Tehal Singh, Sahib Singh, Shivdev Singh,Jangir Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Sukhwinder Kaur (all SHOs) and two head constables– Harjinder Singh and Baljinder Singh were dismissed for their alleged involvement in corruption cases.
While head constable Amarjit Singh and two constables– Gurpartap Singh and Narinderpal Singh were dismissed for being allegedly involved in cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he added.
The action came days after Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh directed the state police chief to deal strictly with police personnel assisting drug traffickers in the state. Any police personnel involved in corruption or drug related cases will not be spared, the SSP warned.
On the other hand 81 Patiala Police Personnel’s were promoted by the DGP Punjab for good work done by them. 50 police personnel’s were honoured with DGP Disc, 1816 with commendation certificates. DGP Punjab also rewarded Patiala Police with a cash prize of worth Rs 3 .20 lacs for solving many blind cases.
