GKU Students Develop Groundnut Harvesting Machine

The students of B.Tech Agriculture Engineering of Guru Kashi University (GKU) Talwandi Sabo have develop a tractor operated Groundnut harvesting Machine.This model has been designed by students of Agriculture Engineering, under the guidance of Er. Rajinder Singh.

They utilized their knowledge of the relevant technology in designing the Groundnut Harvesting machine which will be helpful to groundnut producing farmers.

The machine is capable to harvest the groundnuts at very fast rate. It can also be used for management of crop residue. Managing Director of GKU, S. Sukhraj Singh Sidhu, said: “It is indeed a need-based technology that were make the groundnut harvesting efficient, precise and cost-effective. He congratulated the team of students for this innovation.

On this occasion ,the Vice-Chancellor Col. Dr. B.S. Dhaliwal, Pro V.C. Dr. Jagpal Singh and Registrar Dr. Jagtar Singh Dhiman appreciated the efforts made by the students and the staff members. Dr. Gurbinder Singh Brar, Dean Engineering was also present on this moment & lauded the efforts. He said that the university is working on the innovative development of machine especially to serve the needs of small farmers.
