Er.Sran quoted the discourses of  Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, in which “the Air has been called the Guru, Water is the Father and Earth is like Mother”. He called upon the society to follow the path of the Gurus and make the environment free of pollution by plantation of maximum number of trees.

Er. Baldev Singh Sran expressed great concern over the falling ground water table. He said plantation of trees would also help in water conservation and increase in rainfall. He also called upon Farmers to come forward to participate in water conservation scheme ‘ PAANI BACHAO PAISE KAMAO’ launched by Punjab Government, so that water is conserved for future generations. He assured farmers that with installation of meters under the scheme, farmers would continue to receive subsidized power but would benefit monetarily if they consume lesser power to save water.

He called upon all the officers and employees of PSPCL to contribute as much as possible by planting maximum number of trees around their offices, grids and vacant places in their homes and to take care of plants like children. He hoped that in near future, PSPCL would play a key role in creating the pollution-free environment in the state, leading to “Tandrust Punjab”.  He also informed that PSPCL on its own is committed to  plant more than 50000 saplings in the state.A retired Chief Engineer, Er.Karnail Singh also addressed the gathering.
