Several Musical Personalities Honoured at the Classical Music Event ‘Antarang’ Organized by Kaivalay Foundation

Recently, the Kaivalay Foundation, dedicated to the promotion of Indian music, successfully organized a melodious evening of Indian classical music titled ‘Antarang’ in collaboration with the North Zone Cultural Centre, Ministry of Culture. The event was held at the Kalidas Auditorium of NZCC at Patiala.
Internationally acclaimed artist Pandit Suman Laha presented Raag Madhuwanti on the veena with grace and refinement, leaving a deep impression on the audience. He was accompanied on the tabla by Siddharth Chatterjee of the Farrukhabad gharana. The harmonious blend of veena and tabla enthralled the audience, as reflected in their enthusiastic response.
On this occasion, several eminent women musicians were honoured for their contributions to music in the Patiala region. Among them, Dr. Daisy Walia and Dr. Jiwan Bala were specially recognized and conferred with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. Other distinguished personalities honoured included Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Pushpinder Kaur, Dr. Gauri Khanna, Manisha, Garima and eminent Kathak perormers Dr. Arshdeep Kaur Bhatti, Jasmine, Vidyagauri, all of whom have made notable contributions as teachers, performers, scholars, and mentors.

The President of Kaivalay Foundation, Dr. Harmohan Sharma, shared information via press release said about the foundation’s objectives and activities. He expressed happiness that the organization is approaching its 20th year of promoting Indian classical music. Over this long period, the foundation has consistently provided a platform to renowned artists from India and abroad through various musical events.
He further stated that the ‘Antarang’ event has emerged as a living symbol of the rich cultural heritage of Indian classical music and reiterating Kaivalay Foundation’s unwavering commitment to preserving, promoting, and celebrating this timeless tradition.

Earlier, at the commencement of the program, Dr. Jagmohan Sharma delivered the welcome address and greeted the artists as well as the audience. Among others present on the occasion were Bhupinder Singh from NZCC, Dr. Alankar Singh, Pandit Madhuresh Bhatt Punjabi University Patiala, noted thinker Dr. Surjit Singh Bhatti, along with several other eminent personalities from the field of arts.
