Divine Resonance Marks Khalsa Sajna Diwas: Soulful Kirtan Darbar Held at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib organized a soulful and spiritually enriching Kirtan Darbar on April 15, 2025 (Wednesday), under the able leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh. The event was conducted by the Department of Music to commemorate Khalsa Sajna Diwas (Vaisakhi).

The primary objective of the programme was to connect students and the academic community with the essence of Gurbani through devotional music and to reflect upon the glorious legacy of the creation of the Khalsa Panth.

Dr. Alankar Singh, serving as Professor in the Department of Music and Incharge of the Gurmat Sangeet Chair at Punjabi University, Patiala, mesmerized the congregation with his soulful rendition of Gurbani in prescribed ragas. His performance created a deeply spiritual atmosphere and left the audience immersed in devotion.

Head of the Department of Music, Harpreet Singh, along with Ravinder Kaur, Lakhwinder Kaur, and Shabnam, also presented Kirtan based on the prescribed ragas from Sri Guru Granth Sahib and Dasam Bani, adding further spiritual depth to the event.

On this occasion, Dean Academic Affairs Prof.(Dr.) Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Registrar (Prof.) Dr. Tejbir Singh, Dean Research Prof. (Dr.) Navdeep Kaur, Dr.Hardev Singh (Head, Department of Religious Studies), Deputy Registrar (Registration) Balwinder Kaur, and Dr. Richa Brar (Head, Department of Mathematics), along with Heads of various departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, and a large number of students, participated enthusiastically.

The entire programme was marked by devotion and reverence, where attendees experienced the bliss of Gurbani Kirtan and reaffirmed their commitment to the core values of Sikhism. The event proved to be a significant step in strengthening the spiritual and cultural environment of the University.
