Panjab University Opens Admissions for M.Sc. Human Genomics Research Programme for 2026-27

Panjab University Department-cum-National Center for Human Genome Studies and Research has invited applications for admission to the M.Sc. Human Genomics Research programme for the academic session 2026-27.
The two-year programme, spread across four semesters, has 15 seats. In addition, 2 seats are available for NRI candidates and 4 seats for foreign national candidates.
Admissions to the programme will be conducted through the PU-CET (PG) Entrance Test 2026. The entrance examination will carry 75 marks and will consist of 75 multiple-choice questions of one mark each. The duration of the test will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. Questions will mainly be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science and Medicine.
The last date for online registration and fee submission for the entrance examination is June 9, 2026. The entrance test will be held on June 19, 20 and 21, 2026.
Candidates having a bachelor’s degree under the 10+2+3/10+2+4 pattern in Physical, Chemical, Biological, Pharmaceutical, Para Medical or Dental Science, or in Medicine, Engineering and Technology from a university/institution recognised by PU with at least 55 per cent marks are eligible to apply.

The department aims to train students in addressing biological problems ranging from genes to cells and from medicine to evolution. It also promotes interdisciplinary learning and hands-on research in modern tools and technologies related to genome science.
