Desh Bhagat University organised a Kavi Darbar in commemoration with the 350th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, at its Campus. The University organized the program in collaboration with Bhasha Vibhag, Punjab and All Literary Societies of Dist. Fatehgarh Sahib. The event was graced with the presence of eminent poets and literary persons who recited their poems based on the life and contribution of Tenth Guru.
University Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, while presiding over the function said that all the writings of Guru Sahib’s are highly inspiring and motivating. Deputy Director Language Department, Punjab Karamjit Kaur was the Chief Guest, who emphasized that Guru Gobind Singh Ji was a literature lover who produced a large number of compositions by himself and many were produced by the court poets or writers at the Guru’s instance. A large number of poets and scholars worked under his direct inspirations and encouragement, that shows about his Literary aspect. A book on Guru Gobind Singh Ji, published by the university was presented to the Chief Guest by Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh.
Dist. Fatehgarh Sahib Language Officer Harbhajan Kaur attended the program as Special Guest. She threw light on Guru Ji’s literary work and its significance in present era.
University Pro Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur informed that during the event, Shiromani Sahitkar Surjit Singh Marjara, General Sec. Zila Likhari Sabha, Paramjit Kaur Sirhind, Ajit Singh Mann, Anoop Singh Khanpuri, Upkar Singh Dialpuri, Panthak Kavi Harnek Singh Badali, Karnail Singh Wazirabad, Raghbir Singh Waraich, Bibi Kulveer Kaur, Bibi Gurpreet Kaur Dadheri, Veerpal Albela, Mahinder Kainth, Amandeep, Jasbir Jassi, Ram Singh Albela , Kailash Amlohi, Balvinder Singh and Avtar Singh participated and recited their compositions those were based on the life of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Sneh Inder Singh was the stage secretary of the event. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Virindrer Singh thanked all the Guests and said that we feel privileged by hosting the event. Among others Dr. Surjit Patheja, Staff Members and students from Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Ayurveda were also present at the occasion.
