CM to perform Sewa for beginning religious ceremonies to mark the 550th parkash purb

Secretary Political to Chief Minister Captain Sandeep Sandhu and Cabinet Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would perform Sewa to begin religious ceremonies being initiated by Punjab government to mark the 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji at Sultanpur Lodhi on November 5.

The Secretary Political and Cabinet Minister, who reviewed the arrangements for the mega event on Tuesday, said that the Chief Minister would perform Sewa for initiation of Sehaj path of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji at the main pandal on Tuesday in the presence of Sant Samaj and thousands of devotees. They said that the Sehaj path would be completed with full Guru Maryada and the bhog of Sehaj path would be held on November 12. Captain Sandhu and Channi exhorted the people to participate in these functions with full religious enthusiasm and gaiety.

The Secretary Political and Cabinet Minister said that starting from November 5 a series of religious events like Kirtan Darbar, spectacular light & sound and others would be also held in which eminent Sikh scholars would also take part. Listing the path breaking initiatives taken by the state government to facilitate the pilgrims coming to the holy city on 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji, they said that three tent cities with a capacity of 35000 have been erected in Sultanpur Lodhi to provide accommodation to 35000 devotees. Likewise, Captain Sandhu and Channi said that free water ATMs, free shuttle service, free e-rickshaw, free bi-cycle and others were being provided to the pilgrims.

The Secretary Political and Minister also said that apart from that the Chief Minister has also dedicated projects worth RS 400 crore for the facelift of the holy city. They said that the state government was committed for observing this event in an unsurpassed manner for which no stone was being left unturned. Captain Sandhu and Channi said that this was a lifetime opportunity and all of us should collectively celebrate the 550th parkash purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

On the occasion Lok Sabha MP Jasbir Singh Dimpa, MLA Navtej Singh Cheema, Inspector General of Police Naunihal Singh, Deputy Commissioner  DPS Kharbanda, Senior Superintendent of Police Satinder Singh, Director Tourism MS Jaggi, Additional Deputy Commissioners Rahul Chaba and Gurmit Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa and Charumita, Assistant Commissioner Navneet Kaur Bal and others were also present.
