55 percent DDO’s of PSPCL failed to reply on pension cases; issued memo

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited faces the ire of its chief auditor, failing to cross check the irregularities in pension, family pensions of PSPCL employees.
In a memo number 2236-2381 issued by joint chief accounts officer / centralized payments, PSPCL on November, 29, 2019 to its 146 (Drawing and disbursing officers) DDO’s about the checking of pension cases, in continuation of its letter no 3014/59/ CPP/ PC-1 dated 22-12-2017 , only 65 departments comply the orders. Rest, 81 departments are still to comply the orders and to file the reply.
The Chief Auditor of PSPCL has raised the irregularities and asks all the departments to cross check the pension, family pensions with the Pension Payment Orders (PPO’s) and issue the clearance certificates accordingly.
The Chief Auditor of PSPCL randomly checked the pension cases of some pensioners/ family pension holders at divisional offices of PSPCL and found irregularities like non recovery of commutation from pension as per PPO, not fixing the revised pension etc. “Only 55 percent DDO’s of PSPCL failed to reply on pension cases but issued memo to all”
The memo issued to all the offices, having DDO powers, said that the higher authorities has taken serious note of this financial irregularities. They were instructed to comply the orders and deposit the clearance / ok certificates after checking the cases of pension/ family pensions with the PPO’s, to the office of joint chief accounts officer / centralized payments, PSPCL within one month from the issue of this memo letter, to avoid any disciplinary action against them for causing financial loss to the organization.
