MRSPTU Physics department organized a blood donation camp in memory of Pulwama martyrs

The Department of Physics, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda organised a blood donation camp to commemorate the Centenary Celebrations of Indian Red Cross Society here on Friday.
The camp with the theme “To Build Nation, Practice Secularism through Blood Donation” was a mark of tribute to the Pulwama terror attack victims on the first anniversary.
As many as 108 units of blood were donated by the students and staff members during the camp. This camp was organized in Association with National Service Scheme (NSS); Civil Hospital, Bathinda and Red Cross Society, Bathinda.
Bathinda Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sukhpreet Singh Sidhu inaugurated the blood donation camp and motivated the blood donors. He said that ‘Blood is the current, which sustains life’ therefore, for life every single drop of blood is precious. By donating blood, we are saving lives,”.
Speaking on the occasion, MRSPTU, Dean Research and Development cum Head of the Physics Department, Prof. (Dr.) J.S. Hundal also motivated the students towards their social responsibilities.
Giving details about various department programmes, Dr. Hundal said that, the department running Ph.D., M.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons.) courses in our department. “Our aim is to provide high quality education to the students, so that they could reach to the peaks of scientific knowledge. We put efforts that students could achieve the flying colours in their professional life. Beside this we are committed to produce sensible citizens. We have a vision that student of MRSPTU should understand its moral responsibilities and should play an important role for the growth and development of the society with devotion and ethics.
MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohan Paul Singh Ishar appreciated the efforts of Physics Department and admired the contribution of students and staff in this activity.
Bathinda Red Cross Society, Secretary, Darshan Kumar, Naresh Pathania, Dr. Rajesh Kumar , Dr. Sandeep Kansal, Dr. Pooja Devi, Dr. Satnam Singh, Dr. Gagan Gupta and Dr. H.M. Garg played key role for the successful conduct of the event.
