Patiala DC declared university, college’s hostels as Isolation centres

Patiala deputy commissioner has ordered the requisition of some hostels of Thapar institute of engg college, all boys hostels of Rajiv Gandhi National law university, girls and boys hostels of Luxmi Bai Dental Colllege and boys and girls hostels of Engineering college of Punjabi university Patiala as Covid care Isolation Centres (CCIS), under the Disaster management act. From now onwards, all above said premises came under direct control of Patiala Civil surgeon.
These premises can be used for isolation of suspected positive cases, whenever the need arises. As per the directions of district magistrate, only hostels of Thapar institute of engineering college shall be made functional, as per the CCIC guidelines, rest all shall be made functional, on and when the demand arises in the future.
As per the CCIC Guidelines at level-1 all patients having mild symptoms, such patients are to admitted at Covid Care Isolation Centres.
As per the guidelines at Level 2-all patients with mild to moderate symptoms, such patients are to treated at district hospitals / government isolation facilities.
As per the guidelines at Level 3-all the patients who are in critical condition and are to be refereed to ICU / HDU/ Ventilator facilities.
It further explained that only when the sample has been found positive , the patient should be brought to the CCIC to be kept under constant observation by trained health care professionals.
So, Patiala DC declared university, college’s hostels as Isolation centres to remain prepare for any emergency.
