Education department staff to help administration for collecting data of persons entering Punjab

Secretary health Punjab has written a letter to all the divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, senior superintendent of police and civil surgeons of Punjab regarding “notification of entry points on major roads , closure of entry points on link roads and screening of persons, coming to the state of Punjab from other states”
The health secretary asked the deputy commissioners to notify the entry points into the state only on major roads i.e national Highway/ state highway/ Major district roads and seal all other entry points on the link roads with all the neighboring states. It further states that all persons coming into the districts will deploy Multipurpose Health workers round the clock on these entry points. The multipurpose health workers will screen each and every person coming into the State.
The advisory by the health secretary asked the deputy commissioners “to make arrangements for collection of data and digitization of this data with respect to such persons who are entering the State”. The following data items will be captured Name, Age, Father’s name, Contact number, Place from where the person is coming , Permanent address, complete address of the destination of the person entering , Symptomatic/ Asymptomatic, Remarks (if any).
The health secretary asked the deputy commissioners ,”for the collection of data, the DC’s will utilize staff from other departments, except Health & Family Welfare department . It is suggested that staff from School Education, Higher Education & Technical Education may be utilized”
All the deputy commissioners of the district bordering with other states will share the data of the person coming from other states, with the deputy commissioner of the district of the destination, where the person is going, within 24 hours
The deputy commissioners and civil surgeons off the district will ensure the surveillance and strict compliance be implemented in letter &spirits.
