Pbi Uni establishes Old Students chapter in Los Angeles
Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University Prof BS Ghuman has started an initiative to associate Punjabi University with its old students staying in and around the world.
Under this effort the Punjabi University Alumni Association organsied a special meeting at Nanak Sadan, North Hills , Los Angeles, USA in which old students of sports, Gurmat Sangeet, Law, Pharmacy departments participated. During the meeting at Los Angeles chapter of the association was established. The programme was presided over by former Vice Chancellor Daljit Singh. It begun with the alumni association logo presentation ceremony. The newly establish Los Angeles chapter will run under the supervision of former vice chancellor Daljit Singh
Raminder Singh Gill an alumni said Punjabi University Sports department is doing well in sports field . But still university lacks in sports facility. University can take the help of old students and they will provide better facilities.
In this programme, Dean Alumni Relations, Gurnam Singh said, under the leadership of vice chancellor, the association was establishing various chapters to unite the old students of the university, residing in foreign countries. Till now, they have established chapters in different places of Tri State, US and Bay area, US.
The newly established Los Angeles Alumni Chapter has also decided to do a function on 23 June 2018 and they will honour the former sports director Mangal Singh Dhillon for his excellent services in the field of sports.
Jasjit Singh coordinator of Bay area appealed to old students of Punjabi University to invest in the ongoing projects of Punjabi University as the fiscal condition of the university in not good.
Gajinder Singh shah assured that Nanak Sadan will provide every help to the university.
