Covid 19 treatment-recovered patients come forward to donate Plasma for Covid 19 treatment – Preneet Kaur

Preneet Kaur, Lok Sabha Member, Patiala has appealed to the recovered COVID-19 patients of Patiala District  to come forward to donate their Plasma for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, in case of critical condition.

The Lok Sabha member was interacting with the Mayor of Patiala Municipal Corporation Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit, SSP to review the prevailing situation of COVID-19 in Patiala district this evening. Preneet Kaur directed the district administration to leave no stone unturned to make the mission Fateh launched by the Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh to make state and district COVID free,  a great success.

Preneet Kaur further said that District Administration, in coordination with the social organizations and the mayor and councilors of the municipal corporation to motivate the recovered patients to come forward to donate their Plasmas at the Plasma bank, set up at Government Rajindra Hospital Patiala.  The Member of Parliament also asked the district administration to take strict precautionary measures including challaning for not wearing masks and maintaining social distance, against the Violators to save the healthy people to fall prey to the CORONAVIRUS disease.

Preneet Kaur said that no one would be allowed to spoil anyone’s life by not wearing masks and violating other precautionary measures.

She stressed on the need of forming the Joint teams including the district administration, police personnels, health department and municipal corporation in this regard.  Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit while assuring the MP of the stringent measures to contain the effect of disease said that a PCS officer has been deputed for this job. This officer would ensure with the help of joint committee headed by him, to expedite the process of challaning of Violators.

During the video conferencing, the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Sanjeev Sharma said that the teams of the Corporation have been deputed o  awareness campaign against Corona Virus as well as prevention of Dengue. Municipal Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur said that to avoid chaos in the vegetable markets in the city, both amndis have been closed for four days.  Apart from this, passes are being issued by the corporation for restoration of essential commodity services in the containment zones.

S.S.P.   Mandeep Singh Sidhu said that the police have registered 497 cases against violators under Mission Fateh. He said that to make residents and shopkeepers aware of the COVID pandemic,  the police have launched a massive campaign.  Civil Surgeon Dr.  Harish Malhotra said that the teams of Health Department are working round the clock for sampling and prevention of COVID-19 and on the other hand, one lakh households have also been visited for dengue prevention awareness and at 500 places Dengue larvae have been destroyed.
Meanwhile,Preneet Kaur also directed the district administration to take necessary steps to protect the residents of the district from the possible danger of floods and dengue during the coming monsoon season.

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit assured the Lok Sabha Member that the district administration was making all possible efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and so far only 15 to 20 percent beds have been used of total occupancy in Patiala.  The administration is fully prepared to deal with any emergency in coordination with private hospitals, he added.
