Punjabi university organized faculty development program about E-learning methods for teachers

Centre for E-Learing & Teaching Excellence, Punjabi University, Patiala organized a one Day Faculty Development Program about E-learning methods for the teachers of affiliated colleges. Presiding over the function Vice-chancellor Punjabi University Prof. B. S. Ghuman said that due to COVID19 though the online teaching methods have already been adopted by us, yet in view of the uncertainty about the end of this pandemic, we feel that we will have to evolve an institutional mechanism for strengthening E-learning methods. He said that every possible step will be taken by the university to strengthen online initiatives . He said that we all wish and pray that normalcy returns and we start rejoicing with Campus life again with the students . Though socialization and all other cultural activites have come to halt due to the pandemic, yet we all are making best possible efforts to remain connected with the students, he said. He further said that we will have to equip ourselves with easy technological solutions for Post-COVID era too, as it the future teaching practices would surely demand blending of traditional and online methods to outreach the students. He also discussed about Mission Fateh of Government of Punjab and asked everyone to play an active role in this mission by adhering to the safety norms.
Dr. Gurdeep Singh Batra, DAA, delivering his welcome address told about the objectives of the Centre and emphasized about the importance of online teaching.He told that the teachers from our various colleges are actively involved in online teaching activities through different online platforms.
Dr. Jagroop Kaur, Dean Colleges, said due to Covid 19 it’s the need of the hour that we strenghthen our E-learning resources and skills. Dr. R.K. Goel, Director, IQAC, said we should take this situation as blessing in disguise. Khushvinder Kumar, Principal MM Modi College, Patiala, Simrat Kaur, Principal, Govt. Mohindera College Patiala, Dr. Dharminder Singh Ubha, Principal, Khalsa College, Patiala, Dr. Pardeep Kaura, Principal, Baba Farid College, Deon and Parveen Kumar Garg, Principal, DAV College Bathinda also shared their views and experiences regarding E-learning activities.
Registrar Dr. DevinderPal Singh Sidhu, also expressed his views about the importance of online teaching. Dr. Vikasdeep, YCEO, Talwandi Sabo, delivered vote of thanks. Dr. Vishal Goel and Dr. Gurpreet Singh Josan delivered a special lecture on various technicalities involving the various online teaching modes.
