TSPL observes Weeklong Independence Day Celebrations

Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL), the largest thermal power plant in Punjab, observed a long week long celebration of India’s 74th Independence Day, expressing solidarity and unity of purpose with the communities, business partners, security personnel and employees.

The celebration started with plantation of several of trees inside the plant premises, adding to the existing 700 acres of green belt which makes TSPL one of the greenest power plants in the country. This was followed by interaction of TSPL employees with students from nearby locales and stationery distribution at Senior Secondary School at Raipur village, Mansa. The company also organized an interactive session with bulker drivers to express gratitude for their dedication and commitment to continue services unhindered during the difficult times and adherence to safety norms and COVID guidelines.

Saluting the security personnel for their impeccable services, inspirational stories of their stint and exceptional feats during service with the Indian Army were highlighted throughout the week, through communication to employees and business partners. This was aimed at fostering a greater sense of pride, belongingness and togetherness among everyone associated with TSPL.

This was followed by a poster making competition organized for children of employees, on the theme of Independence Day, encouraging the young minds to colour their imagination on canvas.

The weeklong celebration culminated with hoisting of the national flag by Vikas Sharma, CEO and WTD,TSPL, in the presence of security personnel and employees. Saluting the spirit of independence, Vikas Sharma said, “We are grateful to the Indian armed forces for their courage, grit and determination to serve the country. At Vedanta, we are working towards the larger purpose of fulfilling ‘Desh ki Zarooratein’ and we will continue to work with utmost integrity, dedication and unity of purpose to national goals, transforming lives and making India stronger and more resilient.”

Speaking on the occasion, Subrato Ghosh, Station Head, STEAG pledged support towards the larger mission of nation building adding, “We shall uphold the values of integrity, quality and safety in our operations at TSPL, and serve the country to the best of our abilities.”

The Independence Day celebration concluded with a felicitation ceremony for security personnel who had outshone others in fulfilling their duties diligently, acknowledging their contribution towards keeping the plant and employees safe 24×7.
